The day you begin to put away Christmas decorations is always a sad day, isnt it? In Vermont, Christmas allows us to fight the darkness just a little. When the sun escapes behind the mountains at 4:30 pm, we’re left in the dark. So, we light our trees, place candles in the windows and have candles flickering on our tables. But that’s what makes this time of year so special, in part, because it’s fleeting.
Take some extra time this year to sort out your Christmas decorations. Distribute sentimental or special ornaments that you don’t use to children and grandchildren and donate items you no longer want. This will keep your storage streamlined and save time in the future.
Since I decorate several homes every December, I know firsthand what helps facilitate decorating the following year so I thought I’d share some tips that will help you NEXT year.
