It’s snowing!! Is there a better way to spend a snowy, Sunday morning than by snuggling in bed with the dog and a cup of coffee?
We spend a third of our lives sleeping and yet bedrooms are often the last room that people decorate. I challenge you to take a moment to assess your bedroom and make sure it’s a warm and inviting space.
The key to a cozy bedroom design is lots of layers, texture, and depth. You want to appeal to the five senses and make it feel like a refuge from the world.
Here are a few favorite elements that I typically include in my bedroom designs and that are easy to implement in your home:
LIGHTING
Warm lighting is key for creating a cozy ambiance! I love the wood finish and contrasting metal details on this floor lamp.
PILLOW 1 + PILLOW 2
Pillows add lots of depth and texture to your bedding.
Not to mention that they are super comfy and even functional!
BLANKET
I style rooms with washable faux furs A LOT. Not only do they add texture and interest but they’re a core element in my dog-friendly designs. A bonus, they’re super chic and allow you to snuggle when it’s chilly.
RUG
Keep your feet warm and add a nice pop of color, texture, and depth to your room.
BED
The bed is arguably the most important element of a bedroom. Make sure to choose a comfortable mattress!
CANDLE
Keep your bedroom smelling fresh and feeling cozy with candles.
Are you in a cozy mood yet? It’s incredible what a difference a few pillows and layered blankets can make in adding more warmth to a room. Stay comfy friends!
